Typesetting is entirely file-based, so it works just as well from Cape Town as from next door to our Fourways studio. You send your manuscript, we send typeset pages back for review, and the final files go wherever your book is being printed.
Many Western Cape authors publish on Amazon KDP as well as in print. KDP needs an interior PDF at your chosen trim size with the right margins, and an ebook file for Kindle. Our Premium Layout at R20 per page includes ebook conversion alongside the print layout; Basic (R12) and Standard (R13) cover the print interior.
Formatting for Cape Town’s writers
Cape Town has an active literary scene, and the books we typeset for the region lean towards literary fiction, crime, travel writing and memoir. Literary fiction in particular benefits from quiet, well-proportioned pages: a good text font, generous margins and chapter openings that set the tone.
If you are self-publishing through Amazon, tell us your trim size before we start. Changing the trim size after layout means re-flowing every page.
