A business book cover has a different job from a novel cover. It is often seen on a LinkedIn post, a speaker slide or a conference table before anyone reads a word, and it has to look like it belongs next to the author’s company and personal brand.
For many Sandton authors that means a cover built around a professional author photograph. Our author-photo package (R1,650 for a full print cover) uses your own professional image with two concepts, two mockups and three rounds of revisions. If you do not have a suitable photo, a stock image or typographic design works well too.
Designing for Sandton’s business authors
Most of the covers we design for Sandton clients are for leadership, finance, entrepreneurship and coaching books. The brief usually comes with brand colours, a logo and a speaker profile, and the cover needs to sit comfortably alongside all three.
What works for this genre is restraint: a strong title, readable at thumbnail size, one clear image or none, and a subtitle that tells the reader what they will get. We design the full wrap (front, spine and back) so the back cover can carry endorsements and an author bio.
